此為比較句型,重複兩次「the +比較級」,用來指引前後兩者成正比或反比的關係。

Example:

The more I get along with Mary, the less I like her.

1. 指稱的對象限定為兩者時,則用other;若其中一者為單數名詞,其餘的為複數名詞,改用others。
2. 指稱的對象限定為三者時,同上。
